Film: A Community Mosaic (2008)

A Community Mosaic (2008), produced by Rob and Susan Burneson, focuses on the history and people of two Central Austin neighborhoods. Brentwood and Crestview were among the first suburbs of Austin. Today they are considered part of Central Austin. The film also tells the story of the 120-foot-long Wall of Welcome at 7100 Woodrow Avenue in Austin. Artist Jean Graham and hundreds of neighbors of all ages worked together for more than five years—from 2003 to 2008—to raise funds for and to create the project. The original version of the film premiered at the dedication of the wall in March 2008; a shorter version, below, was selected for the City of Austin’s Faces of Austin multimedia program in 2010.
